Outreach & Education Exhibition at the Civic Centre

Locws International’s annual Outreach and Education Exhibition was successfully launched at the Civic Centre in Swansea on 04.06.15, and was officially opened by The Lord Mayor Of The City & County of Swansea, Councillor John Newbury. 


The exhibition, organised in association with Swansea Arts in Education, showcases Locws International’s award winning Education and Outreach Programme and the artwork created by local creative talent during Locws Schools in 2014/15 with artist David Marchant.

The exhibition features additional projects in partnership with Communities First and artist David Marchant to produce a collection of clay models, based on the ‘Prototype‘ sculpture by David Cushway for Art Across the City 2015. The following schools participated during the Easter holidays:

Another collaboration included in the exhibition shows the outcome from a unique film-prop making workshop hosted in partnership with Adjacent Education from Bay Studios. This involved a group of young people with an interest for the film industry, who were taken on a tour to see Graham Dolphins monument for Art across the City 2015.


The exhibition also features the winning entries and a selection of the best artworks submitted for our Supersonic Car Drawing Competition, inspired by ‘Prototype‘ the sculpture by David Cushway.

The Lord Mayor Of The City & County of Swansea Councillor John Newbury awarded five main prizes to the following outstanding winners:

The exhibition runs until Sunday June 21st 2015, in the Civic Centre main foyer and exhibition space.
