We provided two days of free Poetry Workshops for all the family at the Love Your Countryside Festival, Swansea. The festival was from 06.09.14 – 21.09.14 with events and activities spread across rural Swansea and The Gower. We ran our workshops at the two main events; the Gower Hub day on Sunday 14.09.14 in Bishops Wood Valley near to Caswell beach, and the Mawr Hub day on Sunday 21.09.14 at Garnswllt Activity centre in Ammanford.
The Hub days were from 10.00am – 4.00pm, the Locws Poetry Workshops were free, drop-in sessions, suitable for all ages.
The festival is a fantastic family fun programme of events. Along side the Locws Poetry Workshop, other events included bush crafts, willow weaving, walking trails and a huge range of creative, educational and environmental activities, most of which were free. Please see the Love Your Countryside Festival website for more details.
The Gower Hub and The Mawr Hub days provided inspiring environments for creative writing and poetic reflections.
Award winning poet Rhian Edwards wrote the opening lines, and we are hoping this will become the biggest online poem ever written.
