Of Things Gathered and Things Missing
Swansea Central Library

Maud Cotter has explored the metallurgical history of Swansea, recapturing some of the industrial processes that dominated the city during the 19th Century

She said, "Much of my recent work has been preoccupied with boundary conditions...forms which remain on the verge of absolute definition". Her work reveals the phenomenological richness of our surroundings yet maintains an extremely precise responsiveness to the spatial and material quality of things. She says of her work that it is "saturated with intention. It seeks to articulate ideas about vision, about shadow and light, about containment"
