[lang_en]Free Drawing Competition in response to Art Across The City

As part of our community outreach programme we have joined together with Play Right Resource Centre to run a drawing competition in response to one of the new contemporary artworks in the Art Across The City event between 29th September – 11th November 2012.

Joanne Tatham and Tom O’Sullivan were commissioned by Locws International to create a brand new public artwork, ‘Shelters’, which is located outside Swansea Museum and is open to the public between 10am – 5pm daily. We suggest that you visit this exciting artwork as inspiration for your drawing.

Information on how to enter is provided below, and there is a poster available to download free of charge.

What could possible live here!? ‘Shelters’ by Tatham & O’Sullivan

Art Across The City has landed in Swansea along with two human-sized birdhouses outside Swansea Museum! But where are the birds? Surely a house like this would have something amazing living inside. We have looked high and low and cannot see these magical animals anywhere! Have you seen them?

We want you to draw a magical bird that could live in these houses. What do you think they would look like? There are prizes for the best ones so why not have a go!

To Enter: Create your artwork on A4 paper using any medium you like, paint, crayon, pencil, collage and use lots of colour, then drop it off at the: Art Across The City Information Hub on Oxford Street or Play Right, Swansea Enterprise Park, Swansea. Or post it to: Art Across The City Drawing Competition, 16 J Shed, Kings Road, Swansea SA1 8PL.

Prize categories: 0-6 years, 7- 11 years, 12-16 years, Disabled Children.

Make sure your Name, Age, Address and Telephone number are written on the back of your artwork.

First prize is a selection of Artist Materials donated by Play Right

Competition closes on the 12th November 2012.
